Hi all,
I thought it would be fun to see in how many languages can we come up with to the phrase: "I love you."
Please state the language first, follow by the translated phrase above.
I will start with:
French :
Je t'aime
German :
Ich liebe dich
now it's your turn.
Hello.
Another similar topick was created by star called universal PEACE and LOVE
and she was asking people to say the word i love you in different languages and there are a lot of answers there.
But in Greek i love you is s' agapo.
Nikos
Afrikaans
Ek het jou lief.
Don't know any (I'm language defective), but this is a great topic.
Bob
In Italain it's T'amo or French jut'adore or J'taime
oops, sorry all, I did not know that a similar topic was created. All the more for me then.
Thanks nikos for the info. I wil check out the other post.
hi. I will type it in a way that jaws will pronounce it as well as possible.
Arabic: A heb buk.
Chinese wo aye nee.
Cheers,
John
Spanish is te amo. Pig Latin is Ihay ovelay ooyay. (haha..joke)
i don't know it in anything else other than german, spanish, italian, and english.
hehehehhehehe, d_newhope_777
Hi All. I really love languages, and I have learnt a little of French, Russian, German, Spanish italian and a very little swedish and Dutch. So I´d be glad to help in any problem or question as far as I can.
I love you in Swedish is:
Jag älsar dig
(In English we say: Yo Elsa Dey)
In Italian, we can say both Ti amo, or for friends we can say Ti voglio bene, in English say likeÖ tee aamo, or tee volio behneh.
In Russian Ya tibyaa Lyublyu.
Itäs a great topic
Thanks
Ido
Hey again
Iäve just recalled, that I havenät said to you I love you in Israeläs language.
For a girl sayÖ
Aanee ohev otach (the ch is pronounced like ch in German, or J in Spanish)
Thanks
I speak a bit of Spanish and i did French at school but don't know how to say I love you in any of those languages. But it is a good toppick.
Thanks all for your contribution.I've learned from this board, and hope you have too.
I know how to say I love you in vietnamese, but don't know how to write the phrase. I will ask a family member for help, and will post it soon.
I love you in Maori is taku aroha ki a koe.
hi.
in japanese,
eish deru, "i love you"
this, of course not the correct spelling, perhaps don't have the spelling at all cause Japanese is the same as Chinese, using different carracters from what you know about ABC. but however, this is the most similar pronounceation that i can get with jaws.
In portuguese it's practically the same in spanish except the pronunciation is different. It's spelled the same: te amo but pronounced "che amo" accent on the o and kind of nasaly.
Kai told me hw to say it in mhong but I can't type it and jaws has no pitching to speak of anyway.
Hmong: Kuv hlub koj.
Pronunciation Guide:
Wow! They beat me to the Spanish how to say I love you. Another way is: Te quiero mucho.
Slovenian:
Ljubim te
(j is pronounced like y in english and te is pronounced the same as in spanish)
Serbian:
Volim te
Macedonian:
Sakam te
Dutch:
Ik houd van jou
I probably know more (ok, I do know italian, french, spanish, german, english... but that is not interesting), but I can't remember right now.
well i could be wrong here, but italian for that when i last checked was I amore voi, not sure if right though
I amore voi comes from your nice translator that doesn't say one thing right, lol change it, seriously... just a friendly advice lol
in italian like someone said it's ti amo, or for friends ti voglio bene
In numbers it's 831. 8 letters, three words, one meaning.
Bianary:
10001111
reasoning:
i love you = 143 (i = 1 letter, love = four and you=three)
Um...Wow, Danielle! Math person? lol
Well, the Chinese above was Mandarine, which is the main dialect of Chinese so here's Cantonese, fromt he province of Cantong:

Properly, Greek is s' agapo, but many people say s' agapao. In any case, uncontracted, it's se agapo. In Katharevousa (really formal) to one person or in the plural it's sas agapo. In koutsavakika (a type of slang) it's se goustaro. Really similar to I like you, but used affectionately.
